The Hackmaster game, after a long hiatus, is back. Albeit in a slightly different form. Steve's GMing, and Sean is now part of the game.
Eben and Connor are running their old characters; a 6th-level Slinger[1] and 5th-level Thief, respectively. I'm starting out fresh with a 1st-level Wild Mage[2], and Sean rolled up a Monk. Although, for various reasons, being a Monk just wasn't going to work out... so he's been given permission to rework the character a bit (since he hadn't done anything specifically monk-like, we're going to be retconning him into, most likely, a traditional Fighter because the party still needs some muscle).
The session went okay... Sean enjoyed himself. Steve is running sort of a reimagining of one of his old adventures, although admittedly he's overdoing it slightly with the cameos by old characters. But the new party is clicking, somewhat. So that's definitely a good thing.
But the important thing is... the game is back!!! Hoody-hoo!!!
[1]-- As some of you know, this class is officially referred to as the Sniper. But because this particular character was created during the Beltway incident last year, Eben elected to change the name-- I suggested Slinger, as my mental image of a Magic Missle specialist is something like a magical version of a gunslinger.
[2]-- I've had a total of three other characters. A Gnomeling Thief (and we already have a thief and I don't want to step on Connor's toes), a Human Battlemage (we already have a combat-oriented magic-user), and a Human Assassin (who might be a bit disruptive in the game). I felt like starting with someone new.
