Damn fine movie

I saw 'The Last Samurai' tonight. Fantastic movie, really. In a nutshell: It's got a good story, some great performances, and is overall great to watch. Its action scenes pull no punches but still remain tasteful. It's humorous without being silly. The one thing I suggest is seeing it with an open mind. Having, out of curiosity, skimmed the reviews on the IMDB, one thing I commonly saw was that people judged it because the plot has similarities to "Dances With Wolves." They seem to be hung up on the comparison and can't just sit back and enjoy the movie. See the movie as itself; try not to go in with preconceptions.

It's sad to see a great movie that a lot of people just don't know how to appreciate.
