My Gencon report will come later...
Aug. 23rd, 2004 03:55 amI will say a couple of things-- Mythdude was a really cool guy to hang out with, despite being my arch-nemesis.
Also, apparently the moot at Night Lair was postponed because Ken has been declared head of all of the local Changing Breeds and apparently all of the other shapeshifters are to convert to Rat and join his pack. When he ICly gets back he's going to shit himself. When I showed up at the end of Night Lair to give Sean a ride home, I was told that at least one of the shapeshifters is unhappy with this turn of events, and to be honest I'm not too keen on it either. I mean, it's supposed to be a Caern of Unity. But there's Unity and then there's "the Silver Fang says you all fall into line" Unity. I'm going to have to come up with some sort of compromise before I wind up triggering a reverse War of Rage.
But what gets me is that I missed John's Mokole getting killed! I mean, missing a moot where I'm guaranteed to go up at least one Rank I can handle. But I missed a chance to watch the fucktard do everything but get on his knees and beg for retests on his 'keep from dying by spending Rage' test! Also, because of him and his twinkery, Night Lair has put a ban on Mokole and might be replacing them with three slots of Kitsune characters. But then, I knew from the start that casually picking Mokole as an allowable Changing Breed would be a bad idea. No, really.
But anyhow-- yeah. I missed a chance to watch the little mindless bastard damn near burst into tears at the thought of losing the character he'd spent so much time twinking out. He honestly expected the ST's and narrators to bend half the rules in the book just so his character would survive. Which they did at first. But eventually they just got tired of it and his character was declared deader than dead. Man... GenCon was almost not worth it.
