Fall's on the way in
Sep. 2nd, 2009 12:00 amIt's starting to cool down outside, rapidly getting close to Pants Weather (as opposed to Shorts Weather). Maybe not this week, but next week if this keeps up it'll be ready to put sleeves on the vest (one of the funny things about having the jacket replaced when I did was that I never actually got a chance to use the sleeves on the original before shipping it back). This also means, though, that my sinuses are going to be utterly insufferable for the next couple of weeks. Even if you don't have sinus issues to begin with, West Virginia will cause you to develop them if you live here long enough, mark my words.
Went out and got some work done on a story, hoping to get it finished soon while I'm still enjoying it and before it becomes work. It's turning out to be longer than expected and I've got other stuff I'd really like to work on once I'm done with it. At one point I'd considered submitting it to an e-publisher, but from what I've heard about said company (which shall remain unnamed in this post), I get the feeling that the extra effort of making it in-line with their usual material along with the hassles I've heard that one has to put up with from the management just won't make it worth it. As a result, I've got very little to really do with it once it's done and I'm seriously considering just serializing it on here on a weekly basis, doing my own little 'Free Fiction Friday' like
vaughn_r_demont's. I'll just have to scrape together time to divide it up into appropriately-sized chunks and make sure that it's feasible to post it that way, since it's not written with serialization in mind.
In unrelated news, does anyone here own a French press? I enjoy using my AeroPress, don't get me wrong, but I've considered trying a French press instead and I'm wondering what the cleanup is like.
