So, not a whole lot going on on my end. That's actually a bit of a problem given some of the stuff I've been dragging my feet on lately (nothing I feel like getting into now). But for the most part I'm keeping it together and I think I might be past the worst of my emotional crap from this past year (fingers crossed).

(Of course, that means that I'm just back to the emotional issues I had before, but one thing at a time.)

I've been making more of an effort to get caught up on my reading. I recently finished reading a copy of Dracula I received as a gift a few years ago (a 'Borders Classics' edition, which almost makes it sort of a collector's item if you think about it). I'm sort of working out an informal reading schedule to get caught up on a lot of books I haven't finished. Well, it's not much of a schedule. More of a pattern. Basically, I'm alternating older neglected stuff and newer stuff I've been picking up. If anyone's curious about what I'm reading now, it's "The Spider vs the Empire State." It's a modern reprinting of an old 1938 pulp novel trilogy in which the New York state government has been taken over by a group of fascists and pulp hero 'The Spider' decides he's not having it. If you like some good old-fashioned twin-automatics-blazing pulp action, I highly recommend it.

In other news, after I took a few days off of it to scribble down some notes about possible other creative projects, I've managed to get Tradition's Test up to 30k words.  And I think I'm at a point where I'm officially committed to it one way or another and I'm pretty sure what's going on and where it's headed. At least, I hope that's the case.

In addition to everything else, the weather's been pretty annoying (but when isn't it, around here?). For the most part, we've been having a very warm spring but the last couple of weeks have seen a lot of whiplash, weather-wise.

Also, we've gotten something of a small-but-steady L5R playgroup going on here. A couple of us are looking at hitting a couple of the Koteis (regional tournaments) this year. My deck's not perfect, but it's the deck I want to play and I think I have it about where I want it. So that's something, at least.

Not sure what else that's been going on that would be worth sharing. How about with you folks? What are you up to?
