mythicfoxI'd almost forgotten how much I miss Hackmaster.
We got Sean's new character rolled up. None of the Fighter classes really appealed to him, so he went with an Assassin. It works out, though... to maintain storyline consistency, he used the Assassin's disguise ability to masquerade as a Monk. So except for some out-of-character (for a Monk) stuff, which he isn't too worried about, the continuity is preserved.
We went through a haunted forest, finishing up about the time we got to some bad guy's stronghold on a quest for an item called the Stone of Oblivion. Along the way we find diary pages for Steve's old Paladin, who's apparently planning to get back in the favor of the gawds, become a Bard, and start a special settlement... Essentially, it's official that his Paladin will become a character we met back in the first game he ever ran, about a Bard named Dirk and a village almost completely populated by attractive women.
Personally, I'm feeling slightly inadequate... with Eben's 6th-level Slinger being able to deal massive amounts of damage per round, he is more than capable of hogging most of the monsters. Of course, if my character could get to a level equal to his, then it's possible we'd be an even match if it came down to it. Slingers are pretty combat-oriented, but through the use of spells like illusions and anything involving the setting-up of traps, I'd have a shot. But oh well. Them's the breaks.
I think that's all I have to report about the game itself, although I will admit I was a bit buzzed from it all earlier. I just missed Hackmaster too damn much.
