Gawds, I'm such a geek...

Hello there, sports-fans. Thought I'd say 'Hi' while I take a break from X-Mas shopping. Well, sort of a break. I'm in the middle of the mall, on a pay-by-the-minute terminal with a really crappy keyboard. Fear my mad skillz.
I'm actually kind of buzzed-- in a non-intoxicated way. I ran into an old friend from high school just a few minutes ago, an old buddy named Zach I haven't seen in years. He was on his way to catch Return of the King so I didn't keep him long, but we spent a few minutes catching up. It was really great. He's a bit of a goofball, but Zach's one of the few ones that doesn't inherently get on my nerves (well, outside of cooking class, where he'd eat half the ingredients if we'd let him). He'd 'just' gotten out of the Marine Corps. about 7 months ago, and he said the Marines were like the American version of Nazis. Interesting.
He also said he'd been formally introduced to D&D in the Marines, and that it's very interesting to watch four drunk Marines play D&D. Apparently even their party's wizard was getting in on some good ol'-fashioned hack and slash. I hadn't seen him in next to forever (I've run into him maybe three times including tonight since we graduated back in '99), and it was great to talk to him again.
Well, back to Christmas shopping and maybe some Book n Bean-age later.
