Ah, second week with the local Vampire LARP.

It was a lot more interesting tonight. The head ST (and Bishop) was out of town, but we managed with the other ST.

The Morgantown Sabbat are readying for a huge siege. I'm not entirely sure what the target of the siege is, and when I asked someone they more or less told me that it was going to be a kidnapping operation of some sort. I do know someone at one point was discussing the possibility having a 'shovel party' (which I assume is a mass embrace) to shore up the numbers if they need to.

The Sabbat in Morgantown is disorganized, though. Apparently the Cainites here have been making some really sloppy feeding mistakes (no pun intended). Fortunately, it hasn't happened among my pack yet, and hopefully it won't. The pack might be getting a new member as well-- Harmony couldn't make it to the game this week, but there's a new Malkavian in town in need of a pack, and Sean and I discussed running the idea by Bishop Talon upon his return.

But Raven (the guy in charge when Talon's out of town, and a Black Hand) had something of a self-defense class for the newer Cainites in town. Well, not as much self-defense but 'how to stake someone from a surprise attack.' My end of it didn't last too long. One of the Templars took a swing at me. I dodged, disarmed her, and handed her back the stake before someone else spontaneously Dread Gaze-d me out of the room. Also, at one point, during a meeting of the ducti, Sean's character was caught watching the meeting through the window and got bitched out by Raven.

On top of the upcoming siege, something ancient (someone somehow got a glimpse at one of its memories, and apparently the thing's so old Native American Indians were still plentiful when it was taken out of the picture) has accidentally been uncovered and released from mystical bindings. So far, though, the Cainites are taking a "wait and see, but be ready for the worst"-attitude for it.

Clive (Sean's character) had a very interesting in-character conversation with a Tzimisce as well-- as it turns out, Clive was Embraced only a week before being sent to Morgantown, and that was by accident-- so he knows next to nothing about Cainite society...

"So you mean Caine, like from the Bible, was real? Man, that's wild."

Eh, you had to be there.

But sadly, there is no LARP next week. Apparently they don't play on the last Saturday of a month. But it works out, because then I'll get to play in an L5R tournament that same day!
