He didn't show
May. 6th, 2004 12:42 amYeah, my brother decided at the last minute that he wasn't going to be joining the rest of my family for dinner. Which, I can't deny, was a good thing in the long run. He's always caused trouble when my family goes out for dinner, and even moreso on my birthdays.
I got a couple of gifts, nothing real fancy, and even that was more than what I was expecting. '23' is an odd age. Okay, I guess it literally is an odd age. But it's just that the number itself doesn't mean to seem much. It's not a multiple of anything. It's not a milestone. You don't get a drastic reduction on your insurance or some new mystical legal rights.
In other news, I sold my books back to the college today. So now I have 89 dollars and an Economics textbooks that they aren't buying back because none of the teachers next year are using it.
Also, after dinner, I gave my folks each a copy of the new Whetstone, which has my story in it. My mom gave me a call a little later, saying that she absolutely loved it. Which is a good thing.
But yeah. I'm here. I'm 23. Go me.
