That title has nothing at all to do with my post. It's just a random observation. Before I get into a write-up of what went on at Night Lair, I have a meme, though. One that for some reason seems cool for everybody but me.

First off, my character got arrested tonight.

After getting into character, I wandered around and hung out with some of the other Garou. This was a rather small number, as for some reason half of the folks spontaneously decided to run Mages tonight. Maybe they wanted in on the Cthulu thing.

Anyhow, the Garou were hanging out together when we were spontaneously attacked by a fomor wolf. Jeremiah, a Silver Fang Philodox cub, and I stepped sideways to get a look at the thing from the Umbra. Declaring that the thing was a definite threat, we came back and he and one of the other Garou proceeded to gun the thing down. And of course, gunning the thing down attracted attention-- as did stepping sideways in a public place. We managed to cover up our brief disappearances, but things didn't go so well with the cops.

I admit, it was partially my fault. But cops came by and we tried to BS them. We could have probably gotten off light just by saying that we got attacked and we defended ourselves, but we tried to play it off like we were animal control officers and were promptly arrested on a few different charges (resisting arrest, carrying unlicensed firearms even though Jeremiah-- who provided the weapons-- had permits even though he didn't have them on-hand, animal cruelty, that sort of thing). I took a few minutes to go grab a soda while we were being ICly processed.

Jeremiah runs a law firm, so he managed to spend some points of Influences to get out of jail quickly. Even though the other Garou with us, Riley, got arrested as well, some irregularities with her record would have gotten her released. But Jeremiah pulled some strings with 'the Aussies,' rogue Technocrats in Morgantown, and got us out of there with some Mind magic worked through a cell phone.

We got back, and were shortly afterwards encountered some sort of Wyrm-creature (a vampire, I think). We slipped off somewhere quiet, shifted into wolf-form, and attacked the thing. I dealt some damage and took a nasty hit of my own before the thing disappeared.

Shortly after this, a Shadow Lord lupus who was hanging around invited us to join him in hunting a herd of deer and grabbing a bite to eat. I went along, and in-character didn't really enjoy the deer as such. I more or less followed Jeremiah's lead, as he actually went full-out on properly butchering and cooking the deer meat so as not to make a mess.

And a little later, the local elder (an NPC). We had an informal semi-moot where we talked about recent exploits and I earned a fair bit of Renown. Of course, the Shadow Lord earned more. Even though it was the guy's first night, he managed to weasel himself into getting enough Renown to go up a Rank. He played his Shadow Lord position pretty well, and I did well enough that I got 3 experience points (which is pretty darn good).

Also, apparently the Mages got together and put the Great Old Ones back to sleep. I wasn't there for that, so I don't know what happened, but I do know that it involved pulling a fast one on the djinn.

Oh, and in other news, the guy starting his revenge LARP told some folks that apparently the Head ST at ToD is revoking the membership status (meaning that you couldn't vote for things involving the game itself, etc.) from anyone who attends the revenge game rather than ToD. I really doubt it'd come to that, but thankfully nobody's tried to drag me into it yet. I dunno, it sounds like a bunch of bullshit to me. For one thing, there's nothing in the ToD player constitution that would allow them to do something like that. And there's nothing in the constitution that would allow them to put something like that in there without a majority vote from the players.

I dunno. Like I said, I'm just glad that I'm not being dragged into it. While I don't think that ToD is a perfect game, I'm sticking with it over supporting a petty revenge game any day of the week.
