Yeah, I know, it's guest-writer week at PvP, but Monday's strip is just too damn funny. At least I think so.

Also, I've got a question for White Wolf fans... now, I like Flash animation when it's used for something other than ad banners. When it's used well, it can really spice up a webpage. Now why, pray tell, do they feel a need to make us listen to this 'wind blowing' sound effect when the Flash on the main White Wolf page loads up?

Well, Saturday before last was interesting. With our numbers nearly cut in half (and one of our surviving members absent because Gret wasn't able to make it to game), the situation seemed like it was the absolute worst for the Hedge Mages of Morgantown. Michael and I had a bit of a talk about what we were up against, at which point it was more or less deduced that Lamonte had Alex killed and was influencing my emotions to try and keep the guilt off of him (or just to get Trent under his control).

Michael and I worked out a plan. I'd keep off to the side, he'd keep the attention on himself by letting them know more or less what he could do. I was to try and avoid talking to too many of the vampires-- particularly Lamonte-- and by all means not look any of them in the eye. Not that we ICly knew about Dominate, mind you. But it seemed like a pretty safe precaution, based on movies that our characters had seen.

So I did just that. I stayed off to the side and eventually ran into Ivy. I tried to be subtle about not meeting her gaze, and she and I just talked. One thing that the city's few Hedge Mages have noticed is that there are a few vampires who don't seem to want to screw us all over for some reason. We're keeping an eye on those for the moment.

A while later, I connected with Michael again. Apparently he's learned a lot of information about the local vampires just from walking around and hearing them blurt things out in conversation. So Trent knows ICly that we're dealing with vampires, and apparently Michael's heard they're part of an organization named 'The Sabbat.' Heh.

We've done some strategizing. ICly, Trent has moved Kevin into Michael's house and is currently working on learning the path of Conveyance for quick escapes. He's under orders to use Conveyance if he's in severe danger regardless of who's going to see him.

There's a couple of posts about relocating Kevin over at the ToD IC board. Just look for the posts 'by' Trent Carter.

Well, in case you all are waiting with baited breath (which I'm sure you aren't), the method of balancing out the Mage problem is to give the vampires and shapeshifters a massive boost. I don't know what the vampires are getting, exactly, but shapeshifters are getting bumped up to Rank 3 and are getting an experience point bonus because apparently various Celestines are getting interested in the caern here or something and are giving the shapeshifters a helping hand. The only shapeshifter who was already at Rank 3, a Simba, has been bumped up to Rank 4.

The night started off with the shapeshifters having a bit of a chat in town. Gado, the aforementioned Rank 4 Simba, welcomed a new Bastet to the city (I can't remember what tribe he said he was). We sat around, talking about what to do about Drusus and possibly getting Infias on our side. The subject of asking him to move his artificial moon to another planet has come up once or twice.

At one point Drusus walked by. Once we realized that he was there, in-character, Olaf immediately frenzied on him. Drusus tried to zap us off to his Horizon Realm while we managed to bring Olaf out of it and get the hell out of there ourselves.

I went OOC to do something (I can't remember what, probably a bathroom break), and missed an IC scene with some of the other shapeshifters where the Mages raised all sorts of hell. But as I just missed it, I just went on to where my character would have been headed: the caern.

It was interesting... I'd spent all of my Rage escaping from Drusus and by Laws of the Wild rules I was trapped in breed form (Koto/Crinos form for me), so I had to talk to the other shapeshifters at the caern entirely through the Courtly Speech Gift. So while we debated, I just pointed at whomever I was speaking to at the time, since even with Courtly Speech you can't just speak three different languages at once.

So we have a plan concerning meeting with Infias and negotiating some sort of treaty while we deal with Drusus.

So yeah. There we go, folks. All caught up.
