I had a meeting today about 2:30pm-ish with the literary editor of the Whetstone, the "arts and literary journal of FSC," to quote its webpage. I submitted an item last December, just in time for the cutoff date, and they wanted to bring me in to talk about revisions and such. Michelle Wakely, the aforementined literary editor, went over my submission with me, giving it a serious and honest critique. Thus, I have some revisions to make and turn in during a second meeting on Tuesday. Also, while I'm there, they're going to collect a 'contributor's note' and a photo of me.
Michelle really liked the story, by the way (if I ever get a webpage up and running, I might post the story up there after the issue comes out), and I have to admit, her critique is really helpful. A lot of stuff that she pointed out made more sense when actually talked about out loud, she gave me some stuff to think about.
Also, she offered me a spot on the Whetstone staff (although it seemed more of a "we could always use more people" sort of deal). I'm debating whether or not to take it, admittedly. It's a one-credit elective for college, but on top of that I have to work out whether I'll be able to put my all into it, or if I'll just be a waste of their time.
Ah, dammit... that reminds me. At some point I need to run by the school's Financial office and ask what the hell's up. For no reason, I received a bill for $260-something for tuition, out of nowhere. But I paid my full tuition at the beginning of the semester (and admittedly, I even dropped one of my classes). There's no reason why I should have to pay more money now of all times.
Oh well, I'll deal with that later (probably Monday). I know the Financial office has made these sorts of mistakes with people before.
And now, to go home, get my suit ready for tomorrow, check some email, and hit the sack early. I have to be up at 5am. Oy.
