What the fuck is this? Two LJ posts in a single week? Yeah, I know. End times, December 12th, blah blah. Anyhow...
For the last week or so, my internet connection's been really spazzy. Cutting out for hours at a time and even when it is on it was dropping out for about 5-10 minutes at least once an hour. I called the phone company (I'm on DSL because I've dealt with the local cable company before and decided "Fuck no"), they sent out a new modem (I had an older model due for replacement anyways) and that didn't fix it. So they scheduled a technician to come out but the earliest they could get one was tomorrow morning.
Here's the thing. For the last day or so, it's been behaving just fine. I'm half-tempted to call the phone company and ask for an update to see if they figured something out or what. I mean, it's like nothing's been wrong at all. And while I'd hate for a technician to come out when the problem might be solved and put them through whatever crap they'd have to do to fix something that doesn't need fixed, I also can't help but think that there might still be an underlying problem that needs to be checked and addressed.
Thoughts?
(Update: I went ahead and gave them a call and asked them about it. Apparently the issue with my internet service was something locally that they're already working on. But I'm not going to have to worry about a technician coming out for nothing because they're going to call first and if everything's working right then the ticket will be closed. They said that if it wasn't fixed already it should be fixed by tomorrow morning anyhow. And it is fixed. So yay!)
