  • Tue, 23:00: Few things give me Impostor Syndrome more than dealing with someone who has actually built me up in their heads to be more than I am.

There's no such thing as "more than Shaff." You're Shaff FFS!

Seriously though, consider that those folks are seeing something in you that you don't, that it's really there.

Well, I was more referring to people who actually measurably overestimate me. People who think I regularly talk to certain people or assume that my word count when writing is much higher than it is. And when I try to tell then that it's not the case, it comes across like I'm being placating or humble when I'm actually trying to be like 'no, really, I've managed to write about two paragraphs this week' when they seem to think short stories are just falling out of me.

So it doesn't do much to help those irrational moments when I actually do feel like this. (http://threepanelsoul.com/2013/10/14/on-impostor-syndrome/)
