I'd like to take a random moment to be weird and geeky.
In my headcanon, Sherlock and Spaced take place in the same universe.
This doesn't really affect either show too much on a grand scale, but it does involve one character who I argue appears in both shows: Mycroft.
First, as we all know, Mark Gatiss portrays Mycroft Holmes on Sherlock, as an influential figure in British Intelligence.
Now look at this, from the second season premiere of Spaced...
That's Mark Gatiss, portraying an ostensibly-nameless government agent, searching for terrorists. Not to spoil too much of the episode, but despite his dedication to doing it he hates his job and clearly has trouble with the more physical aspects of chasing bad guys.
As we know, Mycroft hates field work with a burning passion.
I argue this agent is Mycroft working his way up through the ranks, being forced to take his lumps until someone who can understand his genius fast-tracks him for something bigger. Thoughts?
